arienettelyn's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- you're not punk, i'm not punk, punk is a funny word for the love of brandon...good charlotte is NOT punk. blink 182 is not punk. 95% of the bands on the vans warped tour are not punk. and avril lavigne is so far from punk she couldn't even see punk if....she used a telescope. haha that made no sense... of course, when i say they're not punk i'm using my definition of the word punk. you wanna know what that is, don't know? suuuuure you do... i'm sure punk means different things to different people. to me, punk bands are loud. they're angry, they're pissed off, and they have something to say. a social conscience kinda dealy. they want the world to be different, and they're gonna tell you why whether you want to hear it or not. they want YOU to be pissed off too, whether youre pissed off at them, or pissed off at the world that made them pissed off. the music isn't always pretty, in fact it rarely is. but it's honest, and it's brutal, and it's unrelenting. and while i'm on the topic, i don't think there is any "punk style" that's so ridiculous, punk used to be about individuality. now it's about shopping at hot topic and going to the warped tour to see pop bands masquerading as punk bands because they make crappy music and skateboard. i'm down with crappy music and skateboarding and the warped tour....just don't call it punk. it's definitely not. 11:58 a.m. - 2003-03-04 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
